Lea Seydoux is a fan and Edie Campbell stars in the latest campaign, but for all its chic connotations, Sandro is seemingly unafraid to collate ideas with those whose influence falls from a different tree. Hence last year’s skate collection with photographer Hugh Holland, and their forthcoming four-piece range featuring artwork from The Stone Roses, launching next month.
Founded in Paris in 1984 – five years prior to the release of the band’s debut album – for SS14 Sandro have come up with a capsule collection that references the self titled album’s cover art, painted by guitarist John Squire. As if to further contextualise the collection, ‘Bye Bye Badman’ (as the original piece is called), depicts lemons, inspired by the mass riots in France in 1968; they nullified the effects of tear gas.
Said lemons are showcased on white long sleeve jerseys, while single artwork covers T-shirts and the band’s name runs down a sweatshirt, each in keeping with the 90s trend that continues to populate stores.

Notes: Ian aged 51 Ian Brown testified against a former teacher at Altrincham Grammar, Fred Talbot, who was found guilty of sexually abusing pupils in the 1970s. Ian gave evidence in 2015 and later in 2017 too.

The Stone Roses singer Ian Brown has given evidence in court to describe how he was taught to masturbate by the TV weatherman Fred Talbot, now on trial for sex offences. The 51-year-old frontman stunned the jury at Minshull Street Crown Court when he was revealed as a prosecution witness today. Brown said that Talbot, 65, taught him biology during his time at Altrincham Grammar School between 1974 and 1979. And saying that he had “nothing to gain” from lying and was supporting his classmates, the musician claimed Talbot showed children a video which he later “later realised was probably a gay porn film”.
Talbot denies 10 offences of indecent assault on five boys while working as a teacher in the late 1960s and early 1980s before his TV career took off.
Recalling one alleged incident when he and his fellow classmates were 11 years old, Brown said Mr Talbot “asked all the class if any of us had ever masturbated”.
“He went on to explain how to masturbate, how you should masturbate and the following lesson he asked who had masturbated.”
Neil Usher, prosecuting, asked if there was any response from the boys. "Nervous giggles," Ian Brown said. "He wanted to know who was successful in the masturbation. He asked boys to raise the hand."
Ian said in further biology lessons, his teacher would approach the boys who had raised their hands and have "private words" with them. "I can remember sitting there wondering, 'What is he saying to them?' "They were all the same age but they were a foot bigger than us."
Suzanne Goddard QC, defending, cross-examined the singer about biology classes and suggested part of Mr Talbot's responsibility as a teacher was sex education. Ian said: "I doubt that's on the curriculum." Asked why he had not told his parents the singer said: "It was 1974. I was 11 and the teachers ruled with an iron rod. It would have been an embarrassment to tell my parents things like that." The lawyer suggested that once the singer knew Mr Talbot was being investigated he may have looked back at the sex education classes in a different light. Ian responded "Is that what you are suggesting? Suggest on."
On a separate occasion, the singer said Talbot took the class into a room with a projector and showed them a film “of a guy walking into a room dressed in denims, sits on bed, takes trousers down and masturbates”. He said the film was “about three minutes long” and that “it was only a few years later I realised it was probably a gay porn film”, adding: “I realised it was wrong to show us that film.”
Brown told the court that seeing Talbot on TV later became a “daily reminder of what he had done to me and the other boys”. The weatherman was a regular feature of ITV’s This Morning show, famous for presenting from a floating weather map in Liverpool’s Albert Dock. The trial continues.

To Brown he had once been simply “Mr Talbot”, science teacher at Altrincham Grammar School For Boys where the singer started his ﬁrst year as an 11 year old in 1974. Under oath, he told the court how Talbot not only showed his class a gay porn ﬁlm on a Supere8 projector in a backroom but also set masturbation as a homework assignment. Talbot’s defence did everything they could to discredit Brown as a witness, calling him “rude and unpleasant" and suggesting his memories were a fabricated fantasy. “Suggest on," replied Brown, “you’re the one being paid to defend him.” Talbot was eventually found guilty on two counts and sentenced to ﬁve years. For Brown, this was more than vindication. After his own brief imprisonment in 1998 he would repeatedly remind journalists that his had been the same custodial period also given to Gary Glitter for possessing over 4000 images of child pornography. By assisting the prosecution of another sex offender, Brown wasn’t only, as he insisted, helping the victims of his old teacher, but settling a score against the legal system itself. Notes: The band put up the posters themselves always in groups of 16.
Sightings of the posters were confirmed at Close Barber's shop on Greater Ancoats Street and the Vinyl Revival record store on Hilton Street. Vinyl Revival would later sell the posters, all proceeds went to charity.

From 24 March 2016, 11:19 - Radiox Website:...Reni was caught outside Paul Epworth's studios in North London this week. The rumours surrounding The Stone Roses recording a third album have reignited this week, after the band and their gear was seen leaving Paul Epworth's famous The Church Studios in Crouch End. Despite both Mani and John Squire allegedly telling a fan they were just rehearsing, drummer Reni may have just given the game away.
According to NME when asked about the rumours, the 51-year-old said: "I'm recording," before adding: "I can't tell you anything because I'll get my arse kicked".

It was here that NME collared an upbeat Ian Brown, who told us the sessions were going ''like a dream''. Ian Brown said ''We'll just keep writing and if it's our standard, we'll go.'' he said, adding 'We'll ride it until the wheels fall off, like we did last time...'. Chris Coghill (Friend of Mani and actor who starred in 2012 Stone Roses' related film Spike Island) said: ...They'd been at the studio in Crouch End for the last few weeks so I knew they were recording, but I was still sat there like a schoolkid listening to the radio. I spoke to Ian about it after the Finsbury Park gig (in 2013) - I asked him what the new material was sounding like. He said 'Fucking Top.'.

The pass would changed for the 2017 tour, as several passes were sold and fans attempted to re-use the 2016 pass for access to the shows VIP areas.

Details of the song emerged on the website of music copyright site PPL (PPL is the copyright organisation which oversees the playing of songs in public.) 08 June 2016.
The official website stated 'Beautiful Thing released at midnight tonight' on the 09 June 2016. Downloads were made available shortly after the youtube debut.
The track was scheduled for release 01 July 2016 but was delayed due to the vinyl pressings, see 22 July 2016.

Before ‘Bye Bye Badman’, Ian dedicated the song to “human beings posing as policemen”.
‘This Is The One’, was played especially for David Beckham, who was wearing a bucket hat (classic) and got to meet the band at the stadium too.
The studio recording of Beautiful Thing was played through the P.A. system after Resurrection.
I was there with my dad. Outside the ground there was loads of Reni style bucket hats for sale, rain macs and shades too. No-one could predict the weather. The show only started to get busy after 19:00 (this was a midweek show where many fans had to work). The merchandise on sale included some unique designs for the show. Unique Posters, T-Shirts, Lithograph prints were on sale. It was the first time I'd seen the Stone Roses Album Windbreaker jacket on sale too. Priced at £60, this was too steep for me to afford at the time but they still hold their value today.

Notes: The studio recording of Beautiful Thing was played through the P.A. system after Resurrection. From NME Blog Larry Bartleet wrote: T In The Park Boss On Learning From 2015's Failures, Booking The Stone Roses, And That Guy In The Tent Have you heard from the Stone Roses how they're prepping? "Not directly, no, but I know that they've been in the studio and everything, I think they keep things quite close to their chest, but it's all exciting." How did you book them? "They've always been strong in Scotland, they've headlined here once before and we had them play Glasgow Green which sold out in 30 minutes for 50,000 tickets, so when I heard that they were gonna do a handful of dates this year, and that they were gonna do shows at Man City and they'd consider doing a Scottish show, immediately I'm like, 'we definitely want them'. They were the first band we announced. "It's great to have them as the first name on the team sheet really. They were one of the first bands I booked as a concert promoter, I put them on at Middlesex Poly in London and they were fantastic at that gig, there were about 150 people there and Bob Stanley came along to review it and said, 'This band are the future of the music industry in Britain' – or words to that effect – and then the band exploded just after that. The rest is history. I just love them."

Notes: The song was initially available to stream on Youtube from 09 June 2016. 6,000 Pressings went on sale as a Limited Edition Vinyl Release. The track was also available as a download too. The vinyl was scheduled for 01 July 2016 but was delayed due to the vinyl pressings.
11 August 2016 - Stone Roses offered a full refund on Beautiful Thing due to a mix up in limited numbers. Fans who bought a limited edition 12-inch version of the track could get their £6.99 back after Universal Records admitted descriptions of the item had been “misleading.” Universal advertised the one-track vinyl single as being limited to 5000 copies, but later admitted 6000 copies were actually pressed.
Universal said: “This item was inaccurately advertised as being limited to 5000 units. The vinyl single was manufactured to accommodate all territories and the UK allocation for this was 5000 units, but a total of 6000 units were manufactured globally. “We appreciate that this was misleading and apologise for this miscommunication. “The vinyl is still very in demand but should you wish to return your copy and have a refund for your purchase, please simply email storesupport@umusic.com quoting your order number and we will issue you the return details and issue a full refund, including postage on the item. “Once again we would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

Notes: Inspiral Carpets drummer Craig aged 44 ends his life. His suicide was said to be the result of tinnitus that had caused 20 years of insomnia and anxiety. Memorial services were attended by music-industry friends including Inspiral Carpets members, Oasis singer Liam Gallagher, Stone Roses bassist Mani and Happy Mondays singer Rowetta.

Notes: ''Ian Brown faced disqualification under the totting up procedure after being caught doing 37mph in a 30mph zone in his Lexus. But his claim it would stop him rehearsing and helping parents George, 81, and Jean, 79, hit a chord in court. Brown’s lawyer Paul Reddy told magistrates the star’s parents, who live eight miles away from his home in Lymm, Cheshire, relied on their son. Mr Reddy said: “They are both elderly and immobile. “It falls to Mr Brown to look after them. “He spends the days doing errands, doing their shopping.” He added: “He is rehearsing in the middle of nowhere and is one of four who need to be there. “At the very least it would inconvenience these people.” Stockport JPs gave Brown three points, bringing him to 12, but did not ban him after agreeing the multi-millionaire might suffer “exceptional hardship”. Brown smiled when told he must pay a £200 fine and £150 following his guilty plea. Last night road safety campaigners rapped the sentence. Brake spokesman Jack Kushner said: “It makes a mockery of the system if drivers who rack up 12 points aren’t banned.”

Original tickets remained valid and the rebooked date was announced in November 2016, additional tickets went on sale 17 December 2016. Ian had injured his shoulder before the show, but all performances went ahead.
Black Roses was sung by Ian accapella, a Barrington Levy cover. The lyrics would later be recorded and used on Ian's next solo album 'Ripples'. This is the only known time Daybreak is played by the band during the reunion. Daybreak & Fools Gold are sung by Reni.
The band use '', the intro tape which hadn't been heard since 1989.
The official touring passes are revealed. The pass had to be changed for the 2017 tour, as several 2016 passes were sold to fans. Fans attempted to re-use the 2016 pass for access to the shows VIP areas.
The 2017 Escort Pass used a negative 'Sugar' detail abstract with a white border and 'The Stone Roses Escort' on one side, whilst the other enlarged the image 'The Stone Roses' text central with a white box underneath. The white box is intended for writing a name or job profession.
The 2017 Touring Pass used the same image as 2016 but a negative of the Waterfall image, same white border and white box and text in the same place too.
There was two VIP passes. Both includes Made Of Stone art surrounded by a white border, 'The Stone Roses VIP' text and on the other side stretched Made Of Stone art with 'The Stone Roses' central text and the white box. The other Made Of Stone VIP pass uses a negative of the artwork but the white border and text remains.

A unqiue '24 June 2017 Hampden Park' 'Blue Lemon' shirt design was on sale from the official merchandise stall. Steve Mason was on stage first.
Before the band came onstage a piper played a verse each of Scotland The Brave and Flower Of Scotland.
Apparently the stadium bowl did not favour the band's sound.
During the show Ian Brown said ''Don't Be Said It's Over...Be Happy It Happened'' "“Don’t be sad it’s over, be happy you were there to see it”". A quote not too disimilar to Dr. Seuss': 'Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.'.
At the end of the set Ian sang a few lines from Beautiful Thing accapella. ''Baby it's a beautiful thing, so I say goodbye...'' The studio recording of Beautiful Thing was played through the P.A. system after.
As the group embraced on stage, Reni and Ian avoid each other.
Deemed as the final Stone Roses show. A friend of my dads, who knew Ian Brown, said this would be the final show back in early 2017. He also said Ian Brown had plans to record a new solo album around this time too.

Notes: From reverb.com "...Fittingly, Mani’s collection of basses and amps reflects the disparate elements of his sound and includes classics like a Rickenbacker 4005 and an Epiphone Jack Casady Signature—basses capable of providing thump and definition. With the launch of his official Reverb Shop next week, Mani, in conjunction with Denmark Street Guitars, is set to sell a number of instruments and amplifiers used on recordings and tours with The Stone Roses and during his time with Primal Scream. Highlights include:
A Rickenbacker 4005 Bass Guitar (used throughout Mani's time with the Stone Roses as a backup for the infamous Pollock Paint Spattered 4005 and in the studio)
A Fender Bassman head and cab used on the recent singles, "All for One" and "Beautiful Thing."
Mesa Boogie heads and cab used on Second Coming album and '95-'96 tour.
An Epiphone Jack Casady bass (used in the Roses reunion tour including their performance at Heaton Park in Manchester.)
A Fender acoustic bass used as a warmup instrument on the last (2016-2017) tour.
A Rickenbacker 3005 (played towards the end of the Stone Roses and during the early days of Primal Scream.)

24 December 2017 - Second Touring Ltd. fold
Notes: Second Touring Limited, a company set up by the band in 2015, had its first notice for a compulsory strike-off on 24 October 2017. This meant it could be dissolved within two months.
NME then reported that Second Touring Ltd. was dissolved at companies house on 24 December 2017.
