A fan said: In 2009 I emailed FM Revolver Records to see if they would ever re-release Sally with the correct version of All Across The Sand on CD. The infamous Paul Birch replied to me. He apparently had no idea about this and looked into it. We exchanged a series of emails, I was keen to get this released and encouraged him by tying it in with the 20th Anniversary of the debut album that was getting remastered and re-released in a lavish super deluxe edition. He concluded I was indeed correct and they'd made a mistake on their re-release and included a couple of demo versions. They had apparently realised at some point about Sally but not the b- side. He assured me he would re-release Sally again and include the correct version of All Across The Sand and he said he'd send me a complimentary copy. I'm still waiting!

The presale purchases (late March) included an inflated service fee of £16.50, the organisers refunded most customers approx £8 by 17 April Monday.
"Hi there, We’re sorry! There was a mistake with the booking fees... The festival organisers have been in touch and have asked us to pass on the following information: Sorry - it’s not you, it’s us! For Bingley Festival 2023, in our efforts to get tickets on sale so that you lovely people can plan your summer in good time, we’ve had a few teething troubles. By mistake, we inadvertently added incorrect booking fees to things we shouldn't have.
In short, if you purchased add-ons (such as camping, car parking, VIP) it's likely that you’ve paid a tad too much for your tickets. Sorry. Charging the same booking fee to add-ons as tickets was completely unintentional and down to human error in the final push to get everything sorted to roll out. We're human - that's why we genuinely care when we get things wrong - but we’re putting it right! We've made sure this isn't happening anymore and we'll automatically refund the booking fee overpayment, which will be charged back to the card you paid on. And another couple of things! We really want to thank all of you who've decided to sow the seeds of the next generation of festival goers by bringing kids along, so we've decided that we'll include camping in the cost of the tickets for children under 11 years. We've also decided to add 1 car park ticket to each tent plot. If you've paid for these already you don't need to do anything: we'll contact you so we can sort out the amount to recredit you. We really do appreciate your patience and understanding. Thank you and we hope you're looking forward to Bingley 2023 as much as we are! "
Parking was an extra £15 and could be booked in advance.
I was there. The rain had been really bad on the previous days. The show was a wash out. There was no 'floorboards' or 'safe' paths, so the grass was muddy mess. The security allowed umbrellas into the festival but you could not use them in the crowd, only away from the crowd. The disabled platform had no shelter. The only shelter was in the small stand at the back. The sound was very poor from the start and did not improve. One of the TV screens stopped working during Razorlights set. Ian was stopping songs and telling the sound guy to sort out his microphone. After being cold and wet through the day we left early. As we left we could hear Ian stopping and starting songs. We lodged a complaint to the festival organisers but they never replied.

The genesis of the project began when Squire joined Gallagher onstage at Knebworth in 2022 to play on ‘Champagne Supernova’ – just as he did with Oasis in 1996 – and then sent Gallagher three tracks.
Songs were then put down at Squire’s studio in Macclesfield, before work with producer Greg Kurstin in Los Angeles. Kurstin also plays bass on the album, alongside drummer Joey Waronker (Beck, R.E.M., Atoms For Peace).

From 06 December 2023 17:42 - Manchester Evening News M.E.N Website: Liam Gallagher, Rowetta and Ian Brown amongst stars to pay respects to Imelda Mounfield at ‘beautiful’ funeral service. Imelda, the wife of Stone Roses' star Mani, was laid to rest at a service on Tuesday. Article By Adam Maidment.
Some of the biggest names in Manchester’s music scene came together to pay their respects following the funeral of Imelda Mounfield.
Imelda, the wife of Stone Roses’ star Mani, passed away at the age of 52 last month. Her death came just three years after she was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer. Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown was amongst those to pay tribute to the events agent, posting on social media: “RIP @imeldamounfield. GOD BLESS MANI and his boys X”
The funeral service was held on Tuesday (December 5) at St Chad’s Church on Cheetham Hill Road, near to the city centre. Hundreds of people are believed to have been in attendance, with well-known faces including Liam Gallagher, Shaun Ryder and Clint Boon.
Ian Brown, John Squire, Rowetta, Martin Moscrop, Simon Moran, Irvine Welsh and Bobby Gillespie also attended the service. It was followed by a wake held at the Irish Heritage Centre in Cheetham Hill.
Posting on social media following the service, Happy Mondays star Rowetta wrote: “Your Mani and all your loved ones did you proud today, Imelda Mounfield. Such a beautiful service. The church was beautiful and rammed full of all your family and friends."
She added: “Afterwards all the old heads turned out, Mani's band mates from the Roses and Primal Scream, Liam Gallagher, Mondays and so many more. Special thanks to Imelda's brother and nephew, and Mani's cousins who I met at Stone Roses Dublin for their kind words to me and Mani of course. “I loved her and she gave me so much love. I'll miss everything about her, we all will."
Imelda is survived by Mani, 61, and their two twin boys, aged ten. In recent years, the pair have helped raise huge sums of money for local charities thanks to a series of superstar auctions. The auctions, which have raised money for the likes of Maggie’s, The Christie Hospital, and The Stockport Charitable Trust, have sold celebrity items such as David Beckham’s football boots, signed drumsticks from Reni and a signed snare drum head from Zak and Ringo Starr.
December 2023 - Noel Gallagher comments on Podcast 150 – General Dread about the new Squire Gallagher LP
From 26 December 2023 - NME Magazine, article by Zehra Kabak: Liam Gallagher Is Pissed Off By Noel Gallagher Mocking His John Squire Collab
Liam Gallagher recently tweeted his anger following comments made by his brother, Noel Gallagher, about his new musical project with John Squire.
Liam and John Squire have completed recording a full album and are planning a few live shows in the upcoming months. Noel mocked this collaboration during a chat with Podcast 150 – General Dread, prompting a strong response from Liam: “What a pair of c**ts!”
A fan referenced Noel’s words in the chat while asking about the possibility of Squire joining the ‘Definitely Maybe’ tour in 2024. The video showed the former Oasis guitarist saying: “Presumably, if he makes an album with our kid, he’ll go on the road, and then obviously, they’ll be doing lots of Oasis songs. So, I mean, he’ll have to simplify his playing somewhat.”
His mocking words about the idea of changing the original solos read: “I wouldn’t be too pleased about that. I might have something to say about that. ‘[Squire], you’re playing your moody blues all of a sudden. The hell you think you are?'”
That’s why when a follower claimed Noel sounded like ‘Alan Partridge when he says, ‘Ooh, I wouldn’t like that,” Liam repeated: “He sounds like a c**t.”
There’s no official release date yet for the Liam Gallagher and John Squire album. But The Guardian reports that their first single, ‘Just Another Rainbow,’ is expected to be out on January 5.
As the upcoming song includes a guitar solo from Squire, Liam’s words about him read: “Everyone always bangs on about him as a guitarist, but he’s a top songwriter too … It’s good to see him back writing songs, and fucking good ones. The melodies are mega, and then the guitars are a given. But I think even when you take all the guitars off, you can play the songs all on acoustic, and they’ll all still blow your mind.”
The details about the album’s name are still under wraps.

January 2024 - John Squire & Liam Gallager - Zane Lowe Show, Apple Music

05 January 2024 - John Squire & Liam Gallager announce new recordings.
From 05 January 2024 - NME Magazine, article by Will Richards: Liam Gallagher has said that he and new collaborative partner John Squire are in the process of planning some debut live gigs.
Officially announced last month after months of teasing – with Gallagher hailing their upcoming record as “the best record since [The Beatles’] ‘Revolver’” – the first taster of the project from the former Oasis frontman and Stone Roses guitarist arrived yesterday (January 5) in the form of debut single ‘Just Another Rainbow’.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music, Gallagher revealed that plans are coming together for live shows from the pair. “We’ve got a bass player, we’ve got a drummer, we’ve got a keyboard player on hold and that if we need it. We’re going to try and tackle it without a keyboard player [or] piano player and give it a bit of bollocks, mate,” he said.
“A bit of rawness to it, but if it needs it, it needs it. But yeah, we’re going out on tour. We’re going to go and do some gigs, see what happens, and try to inspire people and make people happy. That’s it really. And then do another one.”
Of what to expect from the album, Liam added: “There’s 10 [songs] on the album, but we’ve done eight. We demoed eight of them in John’s studio and then John done another two songs and we recorded them for the first time.
“Sang them for the first time out in America in LA. [The album] It hasn’t got a title as such. It’s just Liam and John, like Liam Gallagher and John Squire, really.”
From 26 April 1997 Saturday - NME Magazine (New Musical Express): Meanwhile, another songwriting contributor made his way on to the new album. On a song called ‘Love Me And Leave Me’, co-written by one Liam Gallagher.
“Yeah, I went round to his after the Cup Final last year. We wrote this song together and I changed the lyrics a bit, but it’s basically the same song. Talking about supergroups, I would have started a group with Liam. But he was a bit busy, obviously. I’m sure we’ll write more songs together, though.”
